Commercial Installations

Noxtech® has demonstrated the commercial viability of the Noxtech System for treating the exhausts from diesel and landfill fill gas fueled stationary IC engine-gensets through its installation at the Tulare County Landfill at Woodville. In 2004,a Noxtech System was installed on a landfill gas powered 500 kW diesel electric generator at the Tulare County at Woodville Landfill in the San Joaquin Valley (the Woodville Noxtech System). The Noxtech System has been operating for over 3 years at this site. Third party source tests have verified compliance with SCAQMD Rule 1110.2 as amended and in effect February 1, 2008 for criteria emissions.
The ability of the Woodville Noxtech System to effectively remove criteria pollutants for both diesel and landfill gases at very high flow rates was demonstrated at the Woodville site by directing the exhaust flows from the landfill engine-generator and a 1.5 MW diesel engine-generator into the Woodville system separately and combined. The Woodville Noxtech System was designed to treat the flow from a 1 MW landfill engine. The exhaust flow from the diesel generator and the combined flows from the landfill gas fueled generator clearly exceeded the design flow capacity and reactor residence time for the Noxtech reactor
All analytical testing was conducted by a third party analytical testing company. The detailed results have been reviewed by the South Coast Management District. Excellent results were obtained for the Noxtech System at Woodville. The test design and its results are described below.
A series of tests were run on the Noxtech system at Woodville to treat exhausts from:
Landfill gas engine(500 kW)
Diesel Engine (1.5 MW)
Combined flow from landfill and diesel fueled engines
Test Objectives:
Determine reactor flow capacity
Determine ability to reduce NOx, CO, VOCs
Determine NH3 slip
Build test matrix by testing over broad range of loads and flows
Use third party to obtain test data
Test Results:
Excellent criteria emissions reduction achieved at 2 MW for Noxtech reactor designed for 1 MW flow
Very high levels of reduction for NOx, CO and VOCs demonstrated for landfill, diesel and combined flow exhausts
Low ammonia slip demonstrated at high NOx reduction levels
Noxtech System ran reliably and was very stable
